Reception Transition September 2024
Congratulations on your child obtaining a place in Reception at Highfields Primary School from September 2024. We are looking forward to welcoming your child into our Reception in September and have lots of transition activities planned to help ensure your child’s transition into Reception goes smoothly.
Home Visits
Home visits will take place during June and you will receive a letter in April confirming the date and time of your visit.
Parent Meeting
You are invited to a parent meeting on Wednesday 26th June 2024 at 2.30pm, where further information regarding your child starting Reception will be shared with you. A copy of the presentation for the meeting is attached.
Stay & Play Sessions
You and your child are invited to attend one of our Stay and Play sessions that will run on Tuesday 2nd July 9.30-10.30am, Wednesday 3rd July 2-3pm and Thursday 11th July 9.30-10.30am. Please contact the school office to book onto one of these sessions.
Transition Session
There will also be a transition session for your child on Friday 12th July 2024. This will give your child the opportunity to spend some time in our Reception classroom with some of the children they will be starting school with in September. You will need to drop off and collect your child through the school office. Your home visit letter will tell you the time your child needs to arrive for this.
Welcome Pack
You will receive a Welcome Pack with your home visit letter in April that contains forms that require completion and other important information. Once you have completed the forms please return them to the school office.
